Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti Defense Attorney
Raised in Taylor, Michigan, Michael LeGris was from a family of modest means unable to afford to pay for a college education. As a result, Michael volunteered for the Army serving three years as an artillery gunner overseas.
Michael went on to graduate from the University of Michigan, and then attended the Thomas M Cooley Law School where he served as class president. While in law school Michael clerked for the State Appellate Defenders Office researching and writing criminal appeals to the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.
Michael LeGris has been representing individuals charged with criminal offenses since graduating from law school in the 1980s.
He eventually became a law partner with prominent criminal defense attorney Clyde Ritchie and has continued representing clients in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area for over 30 years.
Michael’s knowledge, ability, and experience have been critical factors leading to favorable outcomes in many legal matters. He has extensive trial experience in criminal, felony, and misdemeanor cases ranging from homicide, sexual assaults, and drug offenses to domestic violence and drunk driving.
All offenses, whether misdemeanor or felony, are taken seriously due to the fact that a criminal conviction may have serious consequences on a person’s employment and educational opportunities. There is no such thing as a minor criminal offense.
